Nancy worked as a computer analyst for the Department of Assistive & Rehabilitative Services (DARS). She will be remembered as living a full life and inspiring those around her with her creativity and extraordinary sense of humor. Over the years, Nancy’s outgoing personality was appreciated by many friends, co-workers, and members of her church.
Nancy created jewelry, and also had a great love for music, which she expressed by playing guitar and singing with her mother as they led out in church services. Her greatest love, however, was her family and friends. She expressed her devotion to others through the years by sending “just because” floral bouquets and cards.
She is predeceased by her parents, Robert Keith Bartling and Cora Jean Robbins. She is survived by her best friend of fifteen years, Mary Scheffler, her extended family and many loving friends who will all cherish her memory.
Nancy’s life will be remembered with a Memorial Service at two o’clock in the afternoon on the 12th of October, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Pastor Fred Snell, of Bastrop Seventh Day Adventist Church will be officiating her remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances in Nancy’s honor to Bastrop Seventh Day Adventist Church to help support the families who were affected by the fires in Bastrop.
