Mae Nell White was born to the late Ike Jones and Ola Mae Sneed Jones in the Montopolis Community of Austin, Texas in 1948 on June 18th. She accepted Christ at the St. Edwards Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. Dewitty. She served faithfully as an Usher, member of the Junior Mission, and Hospitality Committee. After moving to Jarrell, Texas in the 1980s, she united with Friendly Will Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Austin Public Schools. She met and married Milton Taylor in 1963. To this union, six children were born. She married R.L. White in 1983 and the union lasted until his death. Her life's work included the Texas State School for the Blind, Mayflower Moving and Storage, Tracer, Inc. and Home Health Care Worker. Mae was a quiet, calm person. She loved God, her family, and others with all her heart. She would take a complete stranger in. Her hobbies were cooking and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ike Jones and Ola Mae Mayberry; her husband R.L. White; and one daughter, Wanda Michelle Taylor. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Barbara Venson and Stella (Herman) Burditt of Austin, TX; three sons, Milton Taylor Jr. of Jarrell, Texas, Stephen (Amy) Taylor of Toledo, Ohio, and Jeffery Taylor of Austin, Texas; two step-daughters, Betty Ann White and Mary Lynn White of Austin, Texas; one step-sister, Sandra K. (George) Gage of Temple, Texas; two step-brothers, Charles (Tanya) Swist of Bryan College Station, Texas and James Shaw of Pflugerville, Texas; one aunt, Lola M. Waller of Denver, Colorado; 21 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
