Mona Michelle Embry Martinez

She graduated from Temple High School and later moved to Austin, Texas in 1989. She married Jose Martinez on May 13, 1993 and resided in Austin until her death.

Mona was a seasonal employee with the IRS. She loved everyone especially her three nephews and a niece. She was a joy to be around, spreading cheer everywhere she went.

She was a member of Sunset Canyon Baptist Church of Dripping Springs, Texas.

Mona was preceded in death by her grandparents, W.P. and Aileen Yates and Johnny and Madeleine Embry, all of Temple; and her uncle, Robert Yates.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Martinez; parents, David and Carol Embry; brother, Michael Wayne Embry and wife, Dawn; nephews, Caleb, Noah and Joshua Embry; niece, Gracie Embry; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Sunset Canyon Baptist Church, 4000 E. Highway 290 W. in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Sunset Baptist Church with Dr. Lonny Poe officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

Honoring Mona as pallbearers will be Maurice Kropp, Bobby Yates, Billy Yates, Shayne Embry, David Wade Embry and Mike Adams.
