Mitchell Lee Barber was the fourth born of six children. He was born April 7th, 1986 in Mansfield Ohio to Lorna Alt Martell and Mark Barber. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law (Joshua), his niece (Lylah,) and his cousin (Cherry). Along with his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory his three sisters (Alyssa, Amanda, and Abriel), his two brothers (Charles and Matthew), his grandparents (Mimi and Forest), his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more extended family.
As a child, he was the only toe headed blonde of his siblings and he drew your attention to his quiet demeanor with his captivating light green eyes. In fact, he sometimes would only communicate his vexation through song, making it nearly impossible to maintain authority. His competitive nature was the motivation for hours of rambunctious play between him and his siblings. That was often overshadowed by his deep desire to please and show affection.
As an adult, he was an avid reader with a particular interest in witty philosophical banter. His strong opinions were often the subject of intense debates with anyone who was willing to offer an intelligent counterargument. His amazing sense of humor, that was always preceded by his signature grin, drew people into his contagious laughter.
He constantly used his strong stature and his powerful presence to strive to improve the world around him for his loved ones often while appreciating his favorite music. When not using his hands for betterment, he enjoyed operating anything with a motor and wheels. Despite appearing like a gentle giant, children and animals were drawn to his capacity to identify with their vulnerability.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel, North Lamar.
