Minnie "Mimi" Lou Warren, 93, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 11, 2008. She was born on March 14, 1915, in Rosanky, Texas. She married Cecil Warren on June 12, 1934. Mimi was the foundation of her family. No one loved and trusted Jesus more than Mimi, her heart was not only filled with love for Him, but for her family. For the last 16 months Mimi has lived with her granddaughter, Pam and her boys, bringing joy and a lifetime of memories to them. Mimi, Cecil and their daughter, Patsy, moved to Abilene, Texas in 1948 when he was offered the position as General Manager of the Windsor Hotel and then later at the Thunderbird Lodge. In 1962, the family moved back to Austin when Cecil co-owned and managed the Gondolier Hotel. Mimi and Cecil had nearly 69 years together during which they made many friends, attended dances and parties, and traveled all over the U.S. and Mexico. Mimi is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil in 2005; and her only child, Patsy Warren Elich in 1979. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Howard King, and Bill King; and sister, Bess Mullins. Survivors include her granddaughters, Pamela Fojtik and Lynda Jones; great-grandsons; Matthew Fojtik, Cody Fojtik, Kyle Fojtik, and Brandon Jones; sister, Mitzie Bacon; son-in-law, Les Elich; and dearest friend Doris Rogers. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 –8:00 p.m. on Monday October 13, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Cook-Walden Capital Memorial Park in Pflugerville.
