Mildred Lawrence "Millie" Roden, an empathetic friend, loving wife, nurturing mother and doting grandmother, died at her home on Monday surrounded by family and friends. A devout Christian, she participated in numerous Bible study groups in the course of her membership both at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and St. Luke's on the Lake and was an active volunteer with The Settlement Home. She had a smile and an encouraging word for everybody she met. Her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family, and her granddaughters were a special delight to her. A wonderful hostess and devoted friend, the comfort of others remained Millie's priority even through her illness as she welcomed visiting friends and family.
