She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Refugio A. Hernandez, daughter Yolanda L. Hernandez, Parents Cornelio and Emilia Lopez, and Brother Cornelius Gonzalez Lopez.
She is survived by her daughter, Toni Hernandez-Holder, husband Bob Holder, Grandchildren, Steven Salazar and Amanda Kenney, husband Cameron Kenney, and Step Grandchildren, Trey and Tatum Lane, Robert Holder II, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a myriad of friends.
Micaela was a godly woman and lifelong member of Emmanuel United Methodist church, where she served in many organizations such as the United Methodist Women in Faith, and the church’s Choir.
She devoted her life to taking care of her family, friends, and anyone who crossed her path.
The family would like to thank Bois D’Arc Assisted Living, of Lockhart, Parkview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, of Lockhart, and Aspen Hospice and Palliative Care for their love and compassion.
Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 PM followed by Prayer Service at 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas 78752. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 200 Brushy Street, Austin, Texas 78702.
