Our precious baby boy, Method Arthur Cibulka passed peacefully from his earthly home to his heavenly home on May 21, 2018. Method was born April 17, 2018 to Christopher and Jeanette Cibulka of Austin. Four days after birth, Method was diagnosed with Pierson Syndrome. This is an extremely rare genetic disorder that is passed on to the child of a mom and dad both being unaffected carriers of the disorder. There is less than 1 in a million chance of having a child born with this syndrome and there is a 25% chance unaffected (carrier) parents will have an affected child. It is defined as Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome (kidney failure) and Microcoria (small pupils). It affects the kidneys, eyes and brain. Method was born blind and with failing kidneys. Most children with Pierson who live through infancy do not reach milestones like sitting, walking or even talking.
Method lived most of his earthly life in the comfort of his home and in the excellent care of his loving mom and dad. He met his canine brother, Tugger and lots of relatives and friends. We loved him dearly as did everyone who met him. Words cannot express how deeply we have been touched having known this precious baby. He will be in our hearts forever.
Method is survived by his mom and dad, Jeanette and Christopher Cibulka; paternal grandparents, Paula and Dan Cibulka; maternal grandparent, Monica Zuniga; aunt and uncle, Jamie and Matt Driscoll; cousins, Trevor and Nash, great-aunt, Marsha Gardner (Clay); great-uncle, Buddy Zett (Rose) and aunt, Jesse Schilder as well as numerous other beloved family.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors, specialists, nurses and staff at both St. David’s Hospital NICU and Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas for their care and kindness during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Method’s Life at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel officiated by Volma “Bobby” Overton III.
