Lynn left us surrounded by her family, Michael and Nichole Wright, on December 16th, 2021
Lynn has now been reunited with her mother.
She beat lung cancer for two years and was a “Princess Warrior” every day.
Lynn was born in Chicago, Illinois, April 16, 1947, the daughter of Jack Snodgrass and Lois Snodgrass.
She graduated from Burlington Iowa High and the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Lower Elementary Education. Lynn taught in the public schools for over 30 years in Iowa & Texas. Her final teaching role was at Christian Schools in Austin, Texas. Every year she held a Christmas Party in her home for her students.
Lynn is survived by her husband Michael Wright, daughter Nichole Wright (Austin) and her partner Richard Bishop; her sister Julie Erickson Prall & Steve Prall (Ohio), her brother Joseph Snodgrass & Ingrid Snodgrass (Alabama), Michael’s sisters, Marianna Hackbarth (Iowa), Martha & Tom Allen (Iowa), Michaels brothers: William & Janice Wright (Texas), Walter & Carole Wright (Texas) Jim & Deniece Wright (Texas), John & Anne Wright (NC). Lynn also had seventeen nieces and nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by her father and mother: Jack Snodgrass and Lois Wallman.
She was a devoted mother, wife, educator, and friend. Anyone who knew Lynn knew that she had the gift of positivity, to lift people up and was the life of the party. She always was available to talk to and listen to people and always complimented others. Her circle of friends had no bounds and many of her lady friends bridged thirty plus years.
Lynn was a Patriot and loved this country dearly. She endured separation with grace early in her marriage from Michael during the Vietnam war. Ever the supporter, ever the positive.
Her faith was steadfast so much so that she was recently baptized at Great Hills Baptist Church
She loved being outdoors, traveling, fine wine and was always fashionable. There was not a holiday she did not love, to decorate for and to entertain.
Lynn and Michael traveled the world. Europe, especially Italy, Germany, France, and most recently Ireland, Mexico, Hawaii, California, New York City, Washington DC, Santa Fe over twenty times, and always back to Bermuda. They loved the serenity, the genteel people, a place that is magical. A place where they celebrated both their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries.
They have lived in Iowa, Washington, and Texas now for the last forty-three years.
She loved to dance, oh my how she loved to dance. “The Dancing Queen” and “The Lady in Red”!
In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in memory of Lynn to: The American Cancer Society, Dell Children’s Hospital, University of Northern Iowa.
Her family will be eternally grateful for the loving care of Dr. Jane Chawla, Texas Oncology, for the gift of two years.
Lynn’s celebration of life will be scheduled for the beginning of the new year in 2022.
Internment will be in Bermuda.
A life well lived with good times, good memories, good deeds, and many good friends.
