She attended TCU Nurse's School in Ft. Worth, Texas and she became a nurse at Harris Hospital. It was there that she met Stanley Weiner and in 1949 they married. They moved to Midland Texas and began their family. They had five children: Suzanne, Diane, Stan, Sam, and Patricia Ann.
Donnie made their Church home The First Presbyterian Church of Midland Texas.
She dedicated her life to her five children, her seven grand children and her many friends. She belonged to the Garden Club, The Bridge Club and The Pink Ladies at the Midland Memorial Hospital. Her life was one of dedication and generosity and she was known by all as a gentle and loving soul.
Her last years were spent in Austin Texas at the home of Bob and Diane Dillard, until she went to live at Querencia at Barton Creek Country Club.
She was surrounded by close family members and loving care givers. We, as the family, extend our appreciation for all who cared for her. She was treated with the love and the kindness that she gave so openly and so freely.
Everyone who knew Donnie felt the joy of her loving and gentle spirit. She had an unbridled sense of humor and authenticity that permeated all of her relationships and all of her life. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, we are all extremely thankful for the opportunity to have known her and to have had her as our precious Mother… We could not have asked for a more kind, generous, loving, funny, articulate, spiritual and caring parent.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Weiner, her son Samuel Fredrick Weiner and her grandson Justin Davis Armistead.
She is survived by a brother and sister in law, Lon and Frances Mask of Houston Texas, her four children: Suzanne and David Armistead, Diane and Bob Dillard, Stanley Theodore Weiner and Patricia Ann Weiner. Also, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Bobby and Krista Dillard, Bode and Ella Dillard, Suzanne Giselle and James Winfield, Sophia and James Winfield, Samuel Reed and Lindsay Dillard, Donald Stanley Dillard and Meagan Hayes and Stanley and Samantha Weiner.
