Mary Ann Adams Weber, 83, passed away peacefully on Oct. 30, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, friend and teacher, who will be dearly missed. Mary Ann graduated from La Porte High School in 1953 where was she was a popular twirler, active in many clubs and was selected for the homecoming court. From a very young age, she wanted to be a 1st grade teacher. She majored in elementary education at Sam Houston State and was a member of the Eclectic Social Society and selected for the Bathing Revue. She worked hard, graduated in 3 years and embarked on a long, fulfilling teaching career. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Fred "Buddy" Marshall Weber. They lived in Austin and were married for 45 years. They had one child, Fred "Scooter". Mary Ann loved watching him play baseball and football. She was active in the Anderson High School Football Booster Club. Mary Ann retired after 28 years of teaching to help take care of her grandchildren. She taught in LaPorte and Austin ISD at Baker, Barrington, Andrews and Pillow Elementary. She was beloved by her students and fellow teachers. At Pillow, she formed lifelong friendships with a group of teachers who dubbed themselves the CP's - the Cool People. They met monthly for dinner long after Mary Ann's retirement and even surprised her on her 80th birthday with a night out on the town. As much pride as she had in her work, what made Mary Ann most proud was her son, Fred Weber, his wife Ginger and her grandchildren, Marshall and Mary Virginia. "Maw Maw" never missed a dance recital or baseball game. She was a devoted grandmother always ready to volunteer at their schools or babysit. Mary Ann loved animals, especially dogs. She found great joy in taking care of her furry grandchildren. Mary Ann was an avid TCU, UT and Cowboys fan and looked forward to football season every year.
Since she was an only child, her cousins became her "brothers and sisters" and she enjoyed vacations and adventures with them throughout her life. Her family was the center of her world. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband Buddy. She is survived by her devoted son Fred and daughter in law Ginger Weber of Austin, grandchildren Marshall and Mary Virginia Weber both of Austin and by numerous cousins, extended family and friends. Cousins include Jo Ann and John MacCurdy, James and Charlene Archer, Gladys and Gerald Green, Robert and Barbara Archer, Woodrow and Derek Archer, Vera Lee Archer, Edward Lee Archer, Grace and Ronald Powell.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kerry Rhodes for the exceptional care he gave her throughout the years, Heart Hospital of Austin, Brookdale staff for the wonderful care they gave to her the short time she was there, and her three guardian angels, Mary Ann Pfeiffer, Lois Mayes and Gladys Green for checking on her daily and making her laugh.
