Mary Ann Wagner

Mary Ann Wagner our mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, was such a remarkable person. As so very many people can attest to, she deserves the highest praise and remembrance that one could have. Mary Ann passed away from pancreatic cancer on April 19, 2010, the same way that she lived, very peacefully. She was home until the very end and was surrounded and comforted by her family, exactly the way she wanted it to be. "JOY" was her favorite word. You could find the word throughout her home on candles, towels, calendars, and pictures. We found something that she had written down on a random sheet of paper: "Our joy comes from knowing that we are children of God, heirs to all the beauty and wonder of God's abundance. Joy is knowing that God is in control". She always said that we could not find joy from pursing material things. Joy was found within yourself and knowing that you have a personal relationship with the Lord. Mary Ann brought three incredible children into this world, Neil, Melony and Wende, and helped raise her stepson, Chris. She taught them all from the very beginning about God's love. The loves of her life were her grandchildren, Neil Jr., Marina, Isabella, Kelley and Coleman. They too brought her so much joy. God and Jesus were her mainstay, but so was her family. Neil Williams and his wife Annie of Driftwood, Texas, Melony Roche and her husband Jim of Eldorado, Texas, Wende Ibarra and her husband Arthur of Lockhart, Texas and Chris Wagner and his wife Yvette of Austin, Texas. She also left a sister, Jane Thompson and her husband Steve, a niece, Tracy Lord and a nephew Todd Thompson, and many other nieces and nephews as well. Another thing she cherished was the close relationship of life long friends which are too numerous to name. She traveled with them, spent countless hours with them drinking coffee, laughing and enjoying life. She had renewed a lot of friendships through her reunions with her classmates from Wm. B. Travis High School Class of 1961. The family would like to offer a very heartfelt thank you to CTMC Hospice, San Marcos. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Catherine Wolff; her husbands, Rusty Wier, Larry Williams and Jimmy Wagner. We will celebrate her life with love and thankfulness with a service at 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. After the service there will be more celebration of her life at her beloved church, Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Lockhart, Texas. Mary Ann told us that in lieu of flowers she hoped that donations would be sent to the Building Fund of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 1573 FM 671, Lockhart, Texas 78644. Mary Ann is sure to hear these words from our Lord and Savior as she arrives in Heaven. "Well done my good and faithful servant". "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, But a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned. And let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
