Mary Ramos Uballe

Mary R. Uballe, of Austin, passed peacefully in her home Tuesday evening, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary had just celebrated her 102nd birthday on November 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her sons, Simon Uballe, Baldomero Uballe, Johnny Uballe, her grandsons Rocky Santos, Robert Uballe, and siblings Dora Ramos, Victor Ramos, and Joe Ramos. She is survived by her children Modesta Estrada (Joe), Sarah Santos, Mary Ann Uballe, Regina Ramirez, Ventura Uballe, Bessie Rangel (Alfred), Mary Jane Thompson (Wordy), Dr. Esiquio Uballe (Susan); 31 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 46 great-great-grandchildren.

Our matriarch will be remembered for her strength, independence, ability to counsel and nurture all who came to visit her, her green thumb, amazing cooking, sewing, and her hand-made quilts, but most of all for her dedication to family. She instilled in her family a love and faith of Jesus Christ.

A special thanks to her daughter-in-law, Mary L. Uballe, for her unconditional love and support during her last weeks of life. Thanks to Interim Health Care Hospice of Austin.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm, on Sunday, November 30th, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00pm. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
