Mary enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping, and spending time with family. Charity work was her passion, especially her service with Ladies of Charity of Austin and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was a Hospice Austin Volunteer and was also involved with various other local church organizations. Mary’s favorite holiday was Christmas, and her grandchildren will never forget her Christmas trees and the hundreds of gifts underneath the trees.
Mary is preceded in death by three of her eight children: Simon Martin Moya, Mary Alice Bonilla Barrera, and Virginia Bonilla Riojas. She is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Simon Moya; daughters, Carolyn Duran (Rudy), Denise Moya Brown (Ray), Monique Moya Urtado (Michael); and sons, Richard Bonilla and Anthony Bonilla (JoAnn). Mary is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Monday, the 12th of October 2015, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o’clock that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 13th of October 2015, at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas 78757. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
