Mary Effie Mears was born January 25, 1925 in Rochester, Vermont and passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the age of 88. She was a devout Catholic and is at peace with the Lord and her late husband of 62 years, Donald Francis Mears. They were married March 31, 1945 and moved to Austin, Texas in 1952 where they lived and raised four children. She loved reading, crafting and collecting vintage dolls.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Hazel Steadman; her brother, Sherwood Steadman; and her husband, Donald F. Mears.
She is survived by her four children, Dale Mears and wife, Laurie; Diane Willenberg and husband, Mike, and two younger sons, David and Michael Mears, as well as nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park, located at 6300 W. William Cannon Dr., Austin, Texas.
