Mary Lou was born on April 1st, 1948, in Mathis, Texas, and was raised in Austin, Texas. She dedicated her life to the family jewelry business, where she achieved great success through her hard work and dedication.
Mary Lou was known for her love, kindness, wise words, and great devotion to her family. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her unconditional love and ability to calm any storm. She embraced everyone and practiced forgiveness and love, just as her Savior did. Her unique sense of humor was cherished by her children and family—no one else could call out "VINCE!" to her husband in the same unforgettable way.
Mary Lou was an active member of Christian Life Austin and found joy in sharing the word she received with her children. She always encouraged forgiveness, teaching that life is always better with love and kindness. She believed in the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
She is survived by her husband, Vince Contreras; her three children, Vincent E. Contreras, Cindy Pina (Ruben), and Christina Squier; her grandchildren, Vanessa Pina, Vincent Michael Pina, Erika Rocha-Hernandez (Joan), and Bianca Weldon; and her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Landon, and Eli; her siblings Abel Villareal (Margaret), Joe Villarreal (Susie), Julian Villarreal (Lucy), Rudy Villarreal (Marie), Grace Ehsani (Jim), Sara Diaz (Paul), Dianna Bowser, Gloria Rivera, Janie Villarreal, Arthur Villarreal (Tammy), Richard Villarreal (Yeni) and David Villareal. She also leaves behind her beloved fur-baby, Megan.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Villarreal Sr.; her mother, Sara Zamudio Rodriguez; and her brothers, Daniel Villarreal Jr. and Reynaldo Villarreal.
A funeral service will be held on November 12th at 11 AM at Cook Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, TX 78749. Viewing will also take place on November 11th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The family would like to express their gratitude to family and friends who took extra time to visit and plan memorable events for our mother. Our Mother’s memory will forever live in our hearts.
