Mary Ruth Hernandez, age 71, of Austin, passed onto the Lord on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Mary Ruth graduated from North East High School in San Antonio in May of 1956, She was employed by the State of Texas as the head receptionist with the General Land Office for 25 years under four commissioners. Mary Ruth was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. Preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria Guarajo Sanchez. Mary Ruth is survived by her husband of 49 years, Salvador; son, Michael James Hernandez; sister, Theresa Sosa, Consuelo Amaya; brothers, Antonio Sanchez, Jesus Sanchez; and several nieces and nephews. Prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Monsignor Fred Bomar officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
