She was born on February 15, 1927 in Wewoka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Samuel James Droppleman and Beatrice Jean (McCutchan) Droppleman. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Austin and attended college at Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio. On May 17, 1949, she married Albert Willis (AW) Finger and to this union their two sons, John and Sam, were born.
Mary was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Austin and a member of the Crusaders group there. She had a passion for all things Christmas, shopping, shoes and her grandkids. She was an amazing cook and a force to be reckoned with, doing things exactly how she wanted to throughout her life. She dedicated her life to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Willis (AW) Finger, her brother, William Bernard Droppleman (Drop), her youngest son, Samuel Weston Finger, and her oldest son, John Bernard Finger. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her grandchildren and their families, eldest granddaughter, Kathryn Jayne Mendoza and husband Mark Alan Mendoza and their children, Annabella Grace Mendoza and Mikel Alan Mendoza; Mikel Weston Finger and wife Carolyn Yoli Finger and their children, Anna Yolanda Payne and her son, Silas Alexander Mendoza, and Ethan John Finger; Brandi Elyse Hackett and husband Alexander Marcellus Hackett and their children, Cooper Alexander Hackett and Duke Carlton-Samuel Hackett; and youngest grandson, Samuel Bryson Finger; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Mosher Finger.
