Martha Hill Whitcomb was born on October 20, 1936 to Ed and Henri Mae Hill in Austin. She died after a brief illness on April 8, 2009. Martha graduated from Austin High and The University of Texas. She is survived by her husband John Grover, daughter Christianne, son-in-law Col. Rafe Duckworth, granddaughter Lauren Lee, and an extensive family and neighbor support group. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and beloved son, John Edward. Martha enjoyed an extensive career in retail baby store management and was an avid genealogist. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Special thanks to Texas Oncology.
