Mark Latta passed away Oct 7, 2017, after a 53 year battle with Type I Diabetes. He faced many obstacles with his sickness but always persevered. He walked 5 – 6 miles daily as part of his maintenance program.
Mark was honored in 2015 with the Lilly Diabetes Journey Award for his 50 years success with being a Type I Diabetic. He served in the Navy and was on Subs going to Hawaii, Scotland, Spain, and Japan.
Mark spent 28 years working at PGT as a Technician and retired in 2003. After Retirement Mark and MaryAnn traveled the US and Canada for the next 15 years, loving every minute of it, making lots of friends along the way. They bought a home and settled in Buda, Texas.
Mark is survived by his wife of 52 years MaryAnn, Daughters Angela Latta (Dean) and Marcia Latta(Jay); Son Curt(Rebecca); 7 Grandchildren; Sisters Susan Massey and Rebecca Moffitt.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct 27, 2017 at 1:15 pm with Military Honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
