Mark Anthony Elizondo passed away in his beloved Austin on the 6th day of April 2011. He was born on in Harlingen Texas on September 21st, 1960 to Homer and Cristela Elizondo. Mark graduated from Harlingen High School and moved to Austin in 1978 to study Architecture at the University of Texas. He worked in various industries then spent the last 8 years in sales and at the time of his death, was employed with Village Homes of Lockhart. In his leisure time, Mark found great passion swimming in the calming waters of Lake Travis and hunting for fossils and artifacts.
He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Elizondo, Sr.
Mark is survived by his mother, Cristela Elizondo, of Austin, and 4 loving siblings and their families: sister, Cristela Jonson, and her husband, Bill, and their children Jeff, Stephen, and Crissy, all of Houston, and son, Bill Jr., of Austin. Brother, Homer Elizondo, Jr. and his wife, Belinda, their son, Dr. Michael, and daughter, Suzanne, all of Austin. Brother , David Elizondo and his wife, Lucy, and their daughter, Marissa, and son, David, of Austin, and sister, Carmen Elizondo, of Austin.
Mark, we thank you for all that you contributed to our lives and the fond memories you’ve left behind. We will miss you dearly.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Sunday, the 10th of April 2011, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 11th of April 2011, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Rd., Austin, Texas under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, Austin, Texas.
Honorary pallbearers will be brothers, Homer and David, Brother-in-law, Bill, and nephews, Bill Jonson Jr., Stephen Jonson, Jeff Jonson, and Dr. Michael Elizondo.
