Marissa Renae Rodriguez

Marissa Renae Rodriguez passed away May 1, 2018 in a car accident in Austin, Texas. She was 27 years old. Marissa is survived by her 10 year-old son, Arturo "Trae" Damian Gallegos Rodriguez III, her mother, Janice Hernandez (husband Diego), her father Roberto Rodriguez, her brothers Daniel Hanson (wife Ashley) and Roberto Rodriguez, Jr., her sister Melanie Rodriguez, her grandmother, Gaye Johnson, her grandfather, Bubba Johnson (wife Lewanne), her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ernesto Rodriguez, her aunts Leigh Ann Johnson, Lori Ratcliffe (husband Sam) and Gloria Esther Hopkins (husband Stephen) and uncles Kevin and Keith (wife Lauren) Johnson and Ernie Rodriguez and John D. Rodriguez (wife Debbie). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins, Meagan, Dylan, Ryan, Jordan, Payton, Layla, Jayden, Alyson, Kayleigh, Nicholas, Aaron, Haley, Miranda, Samantha, Cameron, and Kaylee.

Marissa, also fondly known as "Rissa" by her Aunt Leigh Ann, was a beautiful young woman. She will always be remembered as always having a smile on her face no matter what life was handing her. Her artistic ability was very noticeable at a very young age. She drew a landscape at the early age of 11 that exhibited beauty, emotion and was just life-like. She loved drawing and painting models in beautiful gowns. She was very talented. All the young cousins loved Marissa. She always took time to play with them and give them so much love. They would all light up when she walked into the room. We will all miss Marissa's beauty, contagious smile and love.

Visitation service will be Monday, May 7, 2018, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish South Funeral Home at 2620 South Congress. Graveside service will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzhugh Cemetery.
