She was an “Officer’s Wife”. She was the wife of Lieutenant Colonel Duncan J. Robertson, Sr., United States Marine Corps, Retired, who passed away September 5, 1980. She was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas and later married there. Her duties as a military wife took her to Quantico, Virginia - Port Hueneme, California - San Diego, California - Coronado, California - Camp Pendleton, California - and Austin, Texas. She settled in Austin, Texas, with her husband and family in 1964, where she lived until her passing. She was an extraordinary mother, a dedicated and devoted wife, and an incredible friend.
She is survived by 6 children: Della Robertson, Duncan J. Robertson, Jr., Catherine (Cathie) Alice Hopkins, James Robertson, Lynda Marene Monroe, and Eric Paul Robertson; 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until nine o’clock in the evening, on Thursday, the 20th of December 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o’clock that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 21st of December, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5909 Reicher Drive, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Monday, the 24th of December, under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
