Maria Luisa De La Cruz

Our dear mother Maria Luisa Lizcano De La Cruz, 87, joined our heavenly father on May 14th, 2022. Peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Our dearly departed Abuela was the matriarch of our family, and her spirit will be close to our hearts till we meet again…

Mom was preceded in death by her parents Manual and Timotea Lizcano; siblings, Manuel R. Lizcano, Maria de Carmen L. Galvan and Gregorio Galvan Sr, Socorro L. Valerio and Meliton Valerio; and brother-in-law Luis Gonzales Sr. Her beloved husband of sixty years Juan De La Cruz; daughter Maria del Rosario

She is survived by her siblings, Jose Guadalupe Lizcano and Herminia Tapia Lizcano, Rosa Elena L. Gonzales, and Juan Antonio Lizcano and Gloria Ann Lizcano; children Johnny De La Cruz and wife Mary De La Cruz; son in law Gilbert Gonzales; Gloria De La Cruz; Maryann De La Cruz-Perez; daughter in law Melinda De La Cruz; Joseph De La Cruz and wife Dora Lee De La Cruz; and Capri Yvette De La Cruz. Her love also spans over three generations of grandchildren sharing special moments that will last forever.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00pm Sunday, May 22nd, 2022, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 2620 S. Congress Ave. Austin, TX 78704. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, May 23rd, 2022, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church located at 126 W. Oltorf St. Austin, TX 78704.

Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery located at 3650 S. I-35 Frontage Rd., Austin, TX 78704.

We will miss her love, wisdom, and advice she gave to all of us while having coffee and pan dulce. The family would also like to extend a huge thank you to Hospice Austin for their magnificent work and support.
