On Saturday, June 15, 2019, Margery Leaper McKee died at Brookdale Assisted Living surrounded by love. She was born in Little Rock, AR on August 2, 1923, and moved to Austin, TX with her husband after WWII, where she has lived since.
She proceeded to have three beautiful daughters raising them to be strong women. She was an accomplished seamstress and wonderful cook. She loved gardening, hiking, and being outdoors in general. She was a huge sports fan, loving the UT Longhorns. She was also a fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Texas Rangers. She was a member of the UT Lamp group going to several lectures and outings with the group. She was also a member of University Presbyterian Church, and a supporter of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
Margery is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Hamill of Tulsa, OK; Caroline Zimmerman of Denton, TX; and Linda Wamsley, and her husband, Rev. John Wamsley of Marianna, Fl. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Shelby Musick, John Zimmerman, Paul Zimmerman, Andrew Wamsley, and Mark Zimmerman.
