Margaret Anne (Peggy) Hendry Dobson Peggy was born February 25, 1920 in Tientsin, China. She died October 28, 2006. Predeceased by husband, Joe R. Dobson and two sisters, Janet Hendry Brown and Patsy Hendry McCartney. She is survived by two brothers, John L. Hendry of San Antonio, Texas and Robert Hendry of Houston, Texas and four daughters, Susan Hoppin and husband, Charlie of Lakewood, Colorado, Sarah Hawn and husband Jody of Dallas, Texas, Deborah Kennedy and husband, David Zarlengo of Golden, Colorado and Ellen Banks and husband John of Austin, Texas. She had eight grandchildren, Ellen Hoppin Barselle, Benjamin Hoppin, Shannon Hawn Bair, Margaret Hawn, Wynne Kennedy Roll, Michael Kennedy, Joseph Banks and Stephen Banks and three great grandchildren, Caroline and Natalie Bair and Abigail Roll. She was born and raised in China, came to the United States in 1936 and graduated from Southern Methodist University. She married Joe R. Dobson in 1940 and lived in Dallas until 1969, where she was active in her church and children's schools. In 1970, the family moved to Austin, Texas, where Peggy became an enthusiastic member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Peggy had a strong Christian faith and was kind and loving to all her knew her. For her daughters, she encouraged a love of music and literature and lifelong learning. She could complete a crossword puzzle in less than ten minutes. Our family is grateful to Dr. Ace Alsup, Gail Robertston, and Esmeralda Gaona and her family for the loving care they gave our mother. We also want to thank the nurses and doctors in the intermediate care unit at Seton Hospital for their attention and warmth to our mother and our family. Services will be at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 3003 Northland Drive, Austin, Texas on November 2" at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church.
