On May 18, 2020, Marcella Jacobi Reese left us to spend eternity with her Lord at age 95. She departed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She will be reunited with her beloved husband Lee S. Reese Jr and she proudly leaves behind her nine children. She referred to each one as an “only” child. James Michael Reese, Patricia Kathleen Stiever, Mary Elizabeth Boston, Joseph Heribert Reese, Frederick Quinten Reese, Emily Reese Espinoza, Joanne Wright, John Mark Reese and David Andrew Reese.
Over the years her legacy extended to five son in laws: Ruben, Dan, Greg, Randy and Terry - Five Daughter in Laws: Julie, Christy, Cherise, Michele and Sam - 23 Grandchildren: Eric, Stephanie, Kipper, Alyssa, Ryan, Jonathan. Evan, Zach, Veronica, Melanie, Natalie, Olivia, Trey, Alexander, Eliza, Dominic, Luke, Melody, Lee, Landon, Nicholas, Miranda and Mason – also 18 Great Grandchildren and counting.
She was one of 5 children born to Clara and Heribert Jacobi in Helena Oklahoma. She is survived by her sister Louise Westbrook and her brother Richard Jacobi. Her brother Julian and sister Dorothy await her in the next life.
Although her main career was to be Mama and Grandma, she did serve in the military during WW II, she graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Biology, she was a lab technician, a substitute teacher and a librarian. She was always the scout leader for both girls and boys. She became an accomplished artist late in life and shared that gift by volunteering to teach art to students that suffered from severe head injuries.
Words cannot express how much love she has left behind in this world, her family will try and live up to the standard that she set. She was and will be the foundation and the backbone of an amazing and crazy family.
Due to the restrictions that are in place for large social gatherings, the family has opted to forego a funeral service at this time. We will begin to plan the celebration that her life deserves in the coming weeks when more can attend.
