Lynn was born on November 5, 1943. She grew up on Audubon Street in New Orleans and was the beloved daughter of James Craig Roth and Mary Hoern Roth. She spent her summers on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain with her family and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Lynn attended Sacred Heart and Louise S. McGehee School in New Orleans. She went on to graduate Phi Beta Kappa from Newcomb College in New Orleans where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She spent her junior year studying at the Sorbonne in Paris which sparked a lifelong love affair with France. After college, she went on to receive a Master’s Degree in French from the University of Wisconsin. She then moved to New Haven to attend Yale University. Later in life, Lynn continued her education at the University of Texas receiving a business degree.
In 1970, Lynn moved to Austin, Texas where she remained for the rest of her life. She was active as a leader in the community, working with the Junior League for many years and serving as Treasurer in the 1980s. She served on multiple boards, including Planned Parenthood, the Austin Child Guidance Center, and the Seton League House. She was an active member in the Austin Garden Club, The Antiques Club, and Book Club. She worked as a CPA for many years and eventually started her own practice which allowed her to devote more time to her children, grandchildren and community service.
Lynn was fluent in French, read voraciously, and collected antique furniture. She was an incredible seamstress and card player. She was much admired for her parties, her academic prowess, and her creative Skype sessions with her grandchildren. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Richard Jordan; her brother, James Craig Roth; her children with Thomas Ford Reese, daughter, Bonnie Reese and son, Byrne Reese; and her grandchildren Delia Rune, Harper Reese, and Daisy Reese.
