Lupe Pena Morris

She was born in Elgin, TX on November 27, 1935 to Trinidad and Samuel Peña. She married the love-of-her-life, Gavino Morris, and moved to East Austin, where they raised their children. Lupe’s Christian faith informed every aspect of her life and her family takes solace in knowing they will meet again. Lupe’s family and community were of great importance to her, and they felt that in the love and support she provided.

Lupe was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gavino, sons, Thomas and Johnny, and both of her parents.

She is survived by her brother, Joe Peña of Elgin, TX and her children, Gavino Morris Jr. (Elida) of San Angelo, TX, Lilly Morris, Gloria Morris (William McCoy), Susan Morris of Austin, TX, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the nurses of St. David’s and Austin Hospice for making her final days peaceful.

A visitation for Lupe will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. A graveside service will occur Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S IH 35, Austin, Texas 78704.
