Lorenzo Carnel Hill, Sr. was born on April 16, 1954, in Austin, Texas, to Mr. Charles A. Hill, Sr. and Mrs. Dorothy Hill; both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in Austin, Texas, and attended Anderson High School.
Brother Lorenzo was a self-employed business owner of Fury Janitorial; cleaning commercial buildings for many years. His clients were very pleased with the quality of his work and his professionalism. The late, Brother Robert McCray loved Brother Lorenzo dearly because he was a major help, and faithful worker in Brother McCray’s business, M&E Multi-Floor Care. Brother Lorenzo also worked for the Austin Independent School District until he retired. He was a dedicated employee, and he often put long hours into his work.
On July 15, 1978, Brother Lorenzo accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, after hearing the Gospel preached by the late Bishop Roland James Allen, and until his death he continued to faithfully serve the Lord, under the leadership and guidance of Bishop Eddie E. Willis, Sr. After receiving salvation, he was baptized on August 13, 1978. One day later, on August 14, 1978, he was united in holy matrimony to his childhood sweet-heart, the late, Sister Hermene Davis Hill, who had also accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. They were married for thirty-seven years, and to this union was born Cheri Evon Hill, Elizabeth Ann Hill, and Lorenzo Carnel Hill, Jr. He loved his wife, all his children, and was “Papa” to seven grandchildren, whom he cared for as if they were his own children.
During his thirty-eight years of living for Christ, he was a devoted Saint who could be called upon at any time to help with the upkeep of the Church. He would clean the church floors; buffing and polishing them until they shined. Brother Lorenzo was not satisfied until his work was perfectly done. Even throughout his sickness, he attended Church services as his illness permitted.
He was a dear brother in Christ, and a good friend to all who knew him. He was a generous man, who loved to share what he had with everyone; a wonderful father and grandfather, who also helped his own family when they called on him. He purposefully sought out saints who were in need, and he would bless them monetarily; not expecting anything in return, because he looked to God to give him spiritual blessings.
Brother Lorenzo Carnel Hill, Sr. entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2016.
He leaves to cherish fond memories of his life, his children: Two Daughters: Cheri Evon Parker, and her husband, Keith Parker; and Elizabeth Ann Hill; His Son, Lorenzo Carnel Hill, Jr; His Brothers and Sisters: Charles A.
