Lorene Harriet Siverson, 100, of Austin, died Saturday, January 31, 2009. She was born on August 24, 1908 in Litchfield, IL to Hattie and Charles Sanders. When she was three, her parents sold their farm and moved the family to Los Angeles. After graduating from Jefferson HS in 1927, Lorene took a position in the Classified Department at William Randolph Hearst's Los Angeles Examiner. She married her childhood sweetheart, Clifford Siverson, on Valentine's Day, 1937. She is survived by her son, Randolph M. Siverson and his wife, Suzanne, of El Macero, CA; daughter, Pam Siverson Hasson and her husband, Newt, of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Erica Siverson, Courtney Siverson Becker; Lauren, Duke, and Meredith Hasson; great-granddaughters, Sydney, Gabriella, and Lauren Becker. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Siverson, and grandson, Andrew Siverson. Lorene loved to entertain, sew, volunteer, garden, and tell fishing stories (true or not). Any tune could get her singing and dancing. In later years, no matter the song, she always ended with, "Doing what comes naturally, dum, de-dum, de-dum, dum, dum." She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. The family wishes to thank her physician, Bill Lockett, for his compassion and care, The Summit at Westlake Hills for 15 years of senior living at its best, and Hospice Austin for their help and support. We are grateful for their love and devotion. "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; for my hope comes from him." Psalm 62:5
