Lonnie Lee Murray was born in Austin, Texas, on December 23, 1918, to Sarah Ellen Cash Murray and Frank Washington Murray. Lonnie passed away on October 9, 2004, at the age of 85. Lonnie married Laura Lee Jolly Murray on June 10, 1940. They raised two daughters, Martha Ellen Murray and Charlotte Frances Murray. Lonnie owned Murrays Garage for many years until joining the Capitol Police, which he retired from in 1983. Being a lifelong Hyde Parker, Lonnie had a wealth of knowledge about life and people growing in the Park. He was a devoted husband and father, a true friend, a hard worker, and an honest man. He will be missed. Lonnie was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kaye Lynn Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laura Lee Murray, two daughters, Martha Ellen Murray of San Antonio and Charlotte Frances Murray of Austin; grandchildren, Lisa Osborne of San Antonio, Jeff Bird of San Antonio, Christopher Lewis of Austin, and David Freudenberg and wife Melissa of Austin; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Bird of San Antonio, Maddison Osborne of San Antonio, Ryan Bird of San Antonio, Tyler Bird of San Antonio, Chris Freudenberg of Austin and Alyssa Freudenberg of Austin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 followed by funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home with Mr. Roger Price officiating.
