Linda was born in rural Virginia and was the 2nd oldest of 7 girls. She was a star athlete, homecoming queen, and in the top few academically in her graduating high school class. She loved her mother and sisters deeply her entire life. Despite living several states away as an adult she always kept in touch and they were always in her heart.
She followed her oldest sister Cher to Austin and met the man that will adore her for all eternity. He begged, pleaded, and harassed her until she finally agreed to go on a date. With that same persistence in less than a year he convinced her to marry him. Except for accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior it was the smartest decision of his life. They celebrated 49 years of marriage this July.
Linda is an amazing wife, mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is a faithful follower of Jesus. She taught her children to love and obey God and lived what she taught. She sacrificed for us all. She was a wonder-mom who worked hard at multiple jobs, and still was an amazing cook, tutor, friend, cheerleader, nurse, and whatever else we needed. She did this for all 3 generations of her family. She fed our friends, nurtured kids in her home daycare, and taught children in Sunday school classes. In Luke 9:48 Jesus said, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.”
Linda Carol Pannell is truly Great and is receiving her reward in heaven for raising 3 generations with God’s love. We love you Nanny.
