Linda Louise (Brownfield) Hudson, age 74, of Austin, Texas passed away March 29, 2014 at her home with her daughter and husband by her side. After winning a battle with breast cancer in 2010, she lost her battle with metastatic melanoma.
She was born August 29, 1939 in Mt. Vernon, Texas to Deryl and Billy Brownfield. She grew up in Dallas, Texas. She was an active member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a Masonic youth service organization and later a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Linda worked for the Texas Department of Insurance for 28 years.
Linda was predeceased by her father, Vernon Deryl Brownfield. She is survived by her husband Wiley K. Hudson, Jr; her mother, Billy Louise Brownfield of Cedar Park, Texas; her daughter Janice Baber of Tyler, Texas, son-in-law Brian and grandchildren Grant and Avery; her daughter Sherrie Gill of Casa Grande, Arizona, son-in-law Burke and grandchildren Jonathan and Sarah; her step-son Wayne Hudson of Leander, Texas, his wife Patty, step-grandchildren Kimberly Brade and Russell Hudson, Christina Cooper, Diana Thomas and Rey Camacho; step-daughter Kathy Stumpff of Cedar Park, Texas, her husband Mike, step-grandson Christopher Parr.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice Compassus, especially Gayle Knowlen-Waskow and Tish for their loving care and moral support.
The visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 6:00 pm -8:00 pm at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills. The Graveside Service will be Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at 11:00 am, Teck Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
