Linda Lee (Edwards) Campbell, 76, of Austin, TX passed away on January 17th, 2018. She died in her home in the arms of her children, grandchildren and loved one after a very brief battle with cancer.
Linda was born in Alton, IL on June 29th, 1941 to Paul LaVerne Edwards and Blanche Gertrude (Trantham) Edwards. She graduated from high school in Alton, Illinois, earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Quincy College in Quincy, IL and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Women’s University in Denton, TX.
Linda’s professional life was marked by dedication to serving others. She served as the Managing Director of the Western Illinois Council on Alcoholism, and later became an Occupational Therapist working in geriatric care units. In the early 1990’s she moved to Germany where she was an Occupational Therapist serving developmentally challenged children of US Military personnel stationed there. Upon her retirement she returned to Austin, TX.
Linda is survived by her children, Laura Lee Weichselbaumer and James E. Brown, her grandchildren Jakob and Eric Weichselbaumer, her sister Diana Kay Mullaney and her niece Maureen Williams. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her daughter Tracy, her brother PJ, her beloved Aunt Ruth and her sister’s children Kate and Casey.
We’ll remember our Mom for her strength, her beauty and her feisty wit. She leaves behind a legacy of beautiful paintings and fond memories that will be cherished forever.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2018 at 1:00pm at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers we know she would have preferred a donation to Ay Chihuahua Rescue of Austin.
