She was well known as an avid doll collector, and was well respected for her expertise and knowledge of antique dolls. She and her husband Austin owned numerous businesses, most recently Dolls By Us. Their love of gospel quartet music and doll shows took them on many trips stopping at flea markets along the way.
Lillian felt very strongly that family should be together on holidays and family reunions and was the instigator for fun and games at the family get-togethers. She was Memaw to all of her nieces, nephews, grandkids and all of their friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Vivian English, sisters Mary and Bettie Jo, brothers Donnie and Alfred, and her grandson Dustin James.
She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Austin.
Lillian is survived by her children, Calvin Carey and wife Ann, Sandra Miller and husband Gary, and Debbie Combs and husband Mark; grandkids Amy Hartzell, Amanda Hernandez, Jill Holmes, Kellie Warmath, Travis Carey and Branden James; and great-grandkids Holden Murphy, Madeline Vanderford, Cade James, and Isaiah, Bella, and Michael Hernandez.
Thanks to the staff at Seton Dell and Cornerstone Hospital. They were wonderful to Memaw and we appreciate their kindness.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 3125 N Lamar Blvd. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8th in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Austin.
