He is survived by his brothers, Jesse Garcia and Guadalupe Garcia; and sister, Stella Garcia-Sepeda; children, Rachel Ann Guardiola, Anna Marie Salazar, husband Arnold and James Edward Garcia, wife Melinda. Grandchildren: Jerica Garcia, Miranda Guardiola, Valerie Garcia, Mia Garcia and Izabella Garcia.
Leon was born in Austin, Texas and graduated from Austin High School. Afterwards he enlisted in the U. S. Army. He proudly served his country for 20 years. Including tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the military he was employed by the U.S. Postal service for 18 years. Upon retirement he enjoyed fishing and doting on his granddaughters.
Pallbearers are Garen Garcia, Ganon Garcia, Francisco Bayardo, Jesse Garcia Jr., Thomas Garcia, Benigo Reyes Jr.
Leonides will be missed but rejoice that he will be reunited with his beloved wife Josie.
