
I didn't realize Leonard had passed until I saw Wanda's obituary.  I was happy to be one of his customers for several years until the shop closed.  

With the saints, give rest oh Christ,
to Leonard and Wanda:
Where there is neither sickness,
nor sorrow,
nor sighing,
But life everlasting!



Dear Wonda -
I was so sorry to hear about your beloved Leonard's death.  I can still remember the many hours that we both spent working at Weed-Corley in the 80's.  You were always such a delight to have around.  You will remaind in my thought and prayers.  My brother John Lucas called and told me the sad news.

Paul and family, I was sorry to hear of your dad's passing.  While I didn't actually know your dad I do have fond memories of my visits to your house and the warm atmosphere your parents created there on Baylor Street.  One memory I have is of your dad sitting in a doorway with a stretching contraption attached to his neck, I'm sure to relieve some neck or back issue, all the while reading some baseball related item.

Jerrel, I remember when your father took us for a ride in the classic car with the "rumble" seat. You and I sat in it and i am sure we could be seen smiling for miles.

I saw the obit in the newspaper today and somehow knew he was your Dad.  
Josie and I send our deepest condolences...losing a loved one is a difficult.  I lost my Dad many years ago but he taught me many, many things...and I can at least cherish the memories.  Rest assured he's gone to a place where only happiness exists.  Take care, know that others share in your loss.

Wanda, Paul and Jerrel - 
I was sorry I did not get a chance to visit with you at today's service.  What a great tribute to a great man.  Sitting in KABC gave me a chance to sit and reflect about all the memories that we share together.  I know your loss is great, but knowing how at home Leonard must be in the presence of his Savior right now makes it bearable.  I will always remember the stern look I would get from Leonard and then the little grin that almost always followed and then of course the advice or opinion that was sure to follow.  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your family and the years of good memories from riding in the rumble seat to the famous cooking and treats  and gospel singing every time we entered the doors of your home.  I thank God for men such as Leonard in my life as I grew up to show me what a man of God was to be like.

I was sorry to learn of Leonard's death. He was my barber for a number of
years and I enjoyed our friendship.

I always enjoyed seeing you and Leonard at the New Sweden events that you both would attend.  I enjoyed talking to Leonard and hearing his many stories.  Leonard's admiration of my mother, Anna Scott Magnuson  (his teacher) always made me proud.  My father, Edwin Magnuson, always had so many nice things to say about Leonard.  He will be missed by many of us whose life he touched.  You have my sympathy and may all the happy moments that you shared together be a comfort to you.  You are in my thoughts and prayers!

I can't remember a time I didn't know Mr. Gustafson.  Mrs, Gustafson, it has been such an honor knowing your entire family all these years.  While it is a difficult time for us to be without Mr. Gustafson, here, I know there is great peace and joy at his being with our Lord now.  (I expect he may tell some stories that get the rest of us in trouble when we get there!)  Love, Kendi.

Leonard was my good friend and he was also a good friend of my Mothers.
He use to tell me stories about when my Mother and him were kids out in
the country.  I loved his stories and he had such a great memory.
He also loved his baseball.
He will be missed in the Swedish community.
