She retired from volunteering on Valentine’s Day, 2015, after having received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for over 10,000 hours of service. Leona’s greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren, Abraham (Sandra), Jacob (Monica), Jennifer (John), and Jake and her great-grandchildren, Zeus and Eleanor. She leaves behind a daughter, Daryl (Noel) and two sons, Steven (Cherie) and Jerry (Liz).
The family would like to thank all of her volunteer friends at St. David’s South Austin Hospital for all the joy that they contributed to her life.
