Leo L. Schaaf (Doc) passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 suddenly at his home. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 9, 1947 to Leo and Treva Schaaf. Lee graduated from Highland High School in Chesterfield, Indiana in May 1966. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Navy. His basic training was in San Diego, Ca. and graduated a corpsman. Lee received orders to Vietnam in late 1966 at which time he was assigned to the 3rd Marine Division. While in Vietnam he was awarded a purple heart and various other medals.
His adult career was in finance and occasional finance instructor at community colleges.
Lee had 2 passions, his wife and playing his drums. He was Diana's protector, lover and totally devoted husband; as well as a very caring brother.
Lee is survived by his wife Diana Compton Schaaf, two sisters; Kathleen Schaaf Phillips and Cecelia Schaaf Irvin, one brother in-law, Blaine Irvin, one daughter; Courtney Tito and son-in-law Sean Tito from California; two sons Erik Schaaf daughter in-law Paige Schaaf from Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Ryan Schaaf daughter-in-law Brianna Schaaf from California. Lee had three grandchildren; Summer Schaaf and Sunny Schaaf from Tennessee and Cheyenne Tito from California. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews.
