Lena Boatright Miles, age 95, of Austin, died Monday, September 27, 2010. She was born in Garfield, Texas on November 24, 1914 to John and Ella Boatright and was baptized at Haynie Chapel Methodist Church in 1927.
Lena retired from Hart Graphics Bindery Department in 1973 after 33 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. Miles; her beloved grandson, Michael Thomas Sankey; and her beloved son-in-law, Walter C. Sankey and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara M. Sankey and son, James E. Miles, and wife, Barbara. She is also survived by one brother, Robert W. Boatright, two sisters, Birdie Johnson and Lucile Murchison; two granddaughters, one grandson, four great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, this is five generations. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank the Texas Home Health Hospice, especially Gwen Edwards and her team for the wonderful care Lena received.
Honoring Mrs. Miles as pallbearers will be Randy Miles, Lane Miles, Larry Hayes, Scott Sankey, Jud Chapman, and Glenn Stark.
