Lee was born December 21, 1933 in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico to David Orden Powers and Myra Vanover Powers. He graduated Albuquerque High School in Albuquerque, NM. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was an avid outdoorsman. His career in commercial building construction took him across the US and Vietnam.
His family was everything to him. He is survived by his daughters, Karolene Elizabeth Pittman (Randy), Tammey Lynne Bratcher, Johniece Evonell Blankenship (Donnie), and Myra Lynnette Powers. Granddaughters, Brett Amber Hackett, Whitney Ryan Bratcher, Misty Lee Blankenship, Linsey Nicole Blankenship, and Rosalie Eileen Powers; grandsons, Michael Brennand Seeley, Cody John Blankenship, Jeremy Bryan Treder, Jason Farrell Treder, Dustin Powers Blankenship, Steven Tracy Bratcher II, and Dean Allen Powers and 30 great-grandchildren.
Lee loves the Lord, loved his family, friends, his church, the missionaries, and the Brethren, dogs, cats, country music, and life. He was a favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank Beacon Hospice, Amy, Emily, and Lucky for the exceptional care he received. We adored each of them and will remain forever grateful for their kindness.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johniece Evonell Powers, father David Orden Powers, mother Myra Vanover Powers, daughter, Debra Lee Powers, granddaughter, Cristy Michelle Treder, and son-in-law Steven Tracy Bratcher, Sr.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Sunday, 27th day of February 2022, at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas. Light refreshments will be provided by the family through Cook-Walden Funeral Home Catering Services. Funeral services will be conducted at Eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, 28th day of February, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints,12001 Bee Cave Rd, Bee Caves, Texas under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home the Church.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, the family suggests memorials be made to a Veterans charity in his honor.
