Laverne Antoinette Pedersen Hill passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born in Hopelawn, New Jersey to Poul "Chris" and Julia Pedersen. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was adventurous and full of life. She also had many friends throughout her travels as a military wife.
She was predeceased by her husband, Davy Lee Hill, and grandson, Timothy Gorske, and is survived by her children, Connie, (Steve) Whalen, Chris (Karen) Hill, Cheryl (Larry) Burrier, and Dawn (Andrea Dube) Gorske.
Laverne was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Steve (Staci) Whalen, Shawn (Sophia) Whalen, Chelsea Whalen (Shawn) Miller, Justin (Paulina) Hill, Jeremy (Lindsey) Hill, Ben (Rachel) Hughes, Jim Hughes, Timothy Gorske and Sarah Gorske-Hinton from who 13 great-grandchildren added more joy and blessings.
A funeral service and graveside for Laverne will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749 with a reception to follow.
Serving as pallbearers are Shawn Whalen, Ben Hughes, Justin Hill, Jeremy Hill, Jim Hughes, and Davy Hughes.
Laverne's family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Beckett Meadows and St. David's Hospice for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or American Diabetes Association.
