He came to the USA in 1956 to live the American dream. He served his country as a member of United States Air Force. In 1958 he met and married his wife Wanda. In 1975 he received his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin.
Klaus received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1999 and had been a faithful member of Great Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Wanda Alkier, his son Michael Alkier and wife Laurie Alkier, and his daughter Nancy Alkier. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Michael, Samuel and Emmalee Alkier, his sister Gisela Alkier of Germany and his brother Bern’t Alkier of Germany.
Klaus will lay in state from 12-6pm on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX.
Visitation with the family will be held from 10am to 11am at Great Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, February 18, 2017, followed by the funeral service at 11am.
