On Monday, December 5, Kermit W. Fox Jr., beloved father and grandfather, passed away. He was eighty. Born to Kermit Sr. and Jewel Fox of Austin, TX, he graduated from Austin High School, ultimately obtaining his Law degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Shortly after graduation, he moved to San Antonio, where he met and married Carol Holme of Freehold, NJ. They were happily married for over thirty years. Kermit was a gifted problem solver and an excellent communicator. His passion for mentoring and teaching enabled him to serve as an effective “life coach” before it became trendy. He prioritized helping people over the pursuit of fame and fortune. He was a first rate attorney, his law offices serving the people of San Antonio for thirty years. Most importantly, he loved his family. He was always home for dinner. He helped his children with their homework, and he rarely missed a baseball game, recital or important event. Later in life, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and endured twenty years of declining health. Despite the challenges, he continued to cherish his role as a father and mentor. He is survived by his children, Kermit III (and his wife, April, of Strongsville, OH) and Tiffany (and her husband, Erik, of Allen, TX), and his six grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and by all those who have benefited from his counsel. The funeral service will be held at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, December 10 at 11am.
