Kathy Lynn Williams Pratt went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 3rd, 2023 after a short stay at Christopher House in Austin, Texas with her family by her side. She was born on April 28th, 1953 and spent her early years in Lubbock, Texas but proudly called Whitharral, Texas home. She graduated from Whitharral High School in 1971 where she played basketball and served as the school mascot.
Kathy recently retired from Stanberry REALTORS where she spent 20 years as the company bookkeeper. She leaves behind a score of administrative friends and real estate agents who became a second family to Kathy. She stayed in touch with many of them until her final days.
Kathy cherished her family and was a devoted and loving mother of three boys, often taking them to baseball games, practices, and summer camps to ensure they had a wonderful childhood full of friends and memories. Upon special request she would make her famous chicken fried steak and homemade fries, which was a family favorite. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband David, many times traveling to State Parks throughout Texas, and other various cities throughout the United States such as Boston, San Francisco, and New York City. She adored her grandson Miller Pratt, and took every opportunity to be with him and watch him grow, play, and learn to say 'Granny' which truly warmed her heart. She was also a founding member of the Mags, a group of her girlfriends named affectionately after the Steel Magnolias. Yearly trips with the Mags to Las Vegas was something she always looked forward to as well as their New Year’s Eve lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. In addition Kathy never met a stranger and was very outgoing even if when meeting somebody new at the grocery store, restaurant, or coffee shop. She was an incredible listener, giving comfort to family and friends during times of need and always ready to help.
Kathy was preceded in death by her oldest son Michael Pratt; parents John and Alene Williams; sister Mary Anne Brody; brother John Williams and niece Lisa Salvato.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years David Pratt of Cedar Creek, her sons Stephen Pratt of Austin; Phillip Pratt and wife Maegan of Cedar Park; grandson Miller Pratt; brother in law Gary Brody of Abilene, niece Angie Thornton (Trey) of Abilene; nephew Chris Salvato of Columbus, Ohio; great nieces Kylie Thornton Ueckert (Caden) of College Station; Samantha Bishop (Aaron) of Columbus, Ohio; great nephews Cade Thornton of College Station; Christopher Salvato of Columbus, Ohio and several cousins. She will be missed by a huge circle of friends whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank Hospice Austin Christopher House for the care and compassion they showed Kathy in her final days.
