Katherine Kaufman Nast

Katherine Kaufman Nast born in San Antonio, TX on April 25, 1921 to Abe and Hattie Kaufman died on October 13, 2010 in Austin, TX at age 89. She was a resident of Corpus Christi, TX most of her adult life. While there, Katherine served as president of Temple Beth El Sisterhood and was a member of the Women’s Medical Auxiliary. She was a volunteer for many years at Spohn Hospital. Katherine will be remembered by friends and loved ones as a kind, gracious and elegant lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 66 years, Dr. Maurice D. Nast, and her sisters, Helen Kaufman Bernstein and Lucille Kaufman Levy. She is survived by her son, Jerome Nast and wife, Sona of Austin, TX, her son, David Nast of New Braunfels, TX and grandson, Daniel Rudyard Nast of Gainesville, FL.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Summit at Westlake Hills and the Summit at Northwest Hills in Austin, TX, as well as Hospice Austin for their care over these last few years.

Funeral services will be held graveside at Hebrew Rest Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Rabbi Kenneth D. Roseman of Congregation Beth Israel will officiate.
