As one of Karen's caregivers and friend, she greatly impacted my life. Both her and her mother taught me so much. She was strong willed, determined, motivated, and always worked hard for her degree during our time together. She had passion for her animals and people. Karen even when I left Texas we remained apart of each other's lives with updates, pictures, and chats. I wish for you peace in your journey beyond life my friend! Xoxo

I met Karen in the 3rd grade at Molly Dawson and instantly became best friends.  I will always cherish my stayovers with our late night talks and silly laughters when we were younger..  You were an inspiration to me and will be deeply missed......!!!

You were like a shooting star, shining and touching everyone you met, now you will touch the face of God. You can do  anything now Karen. Your spirit is free. Karen you were an inspiration to everyone that no matter a disability or perfect health,  if you want something bad enough and push yourself, you can achieve your goals. You were a tough woman who had a big heart. 
My favorite, there were many, was when dad, you and I went to Saint Edwards looking for a building. We had some confusion but leave it to dad to find out by rolling down the window of the old van and quietly asking a young woman, "Hey lady." No response. So again a bit louder, " Hey lady"! That young lady looked like she did not want to approach the van or dad. We busted out laughing so hard you had tears coming down your checks. Dad did not get it...but he was a Ted Bundy wanna be. Lol Going to your school was a blast I never knew how much fun your dad you and me could have with his little comments or stories.
Your dad enjoyed the father-daughter time together I could tell!
I will miss my Trump buddy we bonded there for sure. 
Karen I know you are at peace running, jumping and taking care of all the dogs in heaven along side wella and Paula. 
God has his hands full with such a beautiful, smart and funny spirit sitting next to him. I miss you Karen, we all do!
We pray for your spirit to be with us always and to watch over us mom and dad Arthur and I.

My cousin Karen, you have always been an inspiration to everybody and went above and beyond what most could and wanted to do. The words “you can’t” did not apply to to you. My selfish heart aches that you have left this world and the ones who love and admire you more than you ever know. One in a million maybe could match your determination, selfless and beautiful soul. My heart aches because it may be a bit of time until we reunite. I do however celebrate and rejoice the chains of difficulty you had so much endured are now broken. Walk the golden streets, breath freely and rejoice with our Heavenly Father. We love you❤️🙏

Little  sister were an amazing person. You had such passion and determination and so much love for life. You had a beautiful soul and I was proud of your accomplishments . You were very intelligent and more smarter and educated than I could ever hope to be. I was blessed to have you in my life and I will miss you very much . Rest in Peace little sis. To my beautiful big sister karen Gonzales, im grateful i had the privilege of calling my self your brother. You were an amazing person who knew no limits and refused to be defined by your conditions, im so proud of all of your accomplishments and how you always looked towards your next challenge. It weigh's heavy on my heart that your gone and in a selfish way i wish you where still hear with us but i know that your walking in heaven right now looking down on all of us, you will always be missed and we love you so much.

We miss you so much Karen,  god brought you into this world knowing that you were the special person that people would  admire to proof that your disability didn’t stop you for anything. I worship the steps that you took and made me PROUD to be your aunt. Thank you for the time of laughter and fun times we had together. I will keep you in my heart ❤️ and pray for you. Karen was valued member of YPR and the Recovery Community will always be grateful for the work she did to make a positive impact. She was clearly such a warm and loving spirit- a gift that she graciously shared with her community. 

Karen and I worked together for the last 9 months and I thoroughly enjoyed her voice and passion for people in recovery and pets. My favourite memory was our virtual pet party, when I got to meet the pets she holds dear in her life and I got to show my pet too. She was so kind to everyone and such a joy to be with. 

Karen was an outstanding employee at YPR and lit up every room she entered, whether in person or more recently on Zoom. She was dedicated and determined to help others. She was a leader who led by example, always putting in her best effort and doing it with grace and kindness. She had an impact on our organization and her community that will be a tribute to her memory. I am so sorry for her loss and that we didn't have more time with her. The world lost a gem. She is irreplaceable.
