Julio Santos III, beloved son and dear friend to all that knew him. Julio Santos III, 22 years old, died from an accidental drowning and his body was recovered at Ladybird Lake on June 7, 2015. He was born on July 12, 1992 to proud parents Julio Santos Jr. and Cynthia Santos in Austin, Texas.
After graduating with honors at Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas Julio enrolled in the fall of 2010 at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He completed a Bachelors degree with a double major in Merchandising and Digital Retailing and was given honorable mention on the Dean's list. Julio also had a deep interest in graphic design and the fashion industry; he was very proud of his academic scholarship and was an Emerald Eagle Scholar from 2010 to 2013. Julio's extremely charismatic and fearless persona is only matched by his loving character, Julio never hesitated to help those around him. He was loved by all who knew him and continued to strive for excellence in all his endeavors.
Julio was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Santos, grandparents, Michael and Minerva Davenport.
Julio is survived by his proud father, Julio Santos Jr.; sister, Melanie Lee Reyna and fiancé Gene Raymond; brother, William Edward Reyna II and wife Lorie Ann Reyna; niece and nephews, Jasmine, Omar, William, Jackson, David, Gavin Reyna, Joseph Michael Perez; and Joseph's father, Joseph Carlos Perez.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Kyle, Texas. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas.
