Beloved sister, mother and Gooma, Judith Lee Banks, 83, passed away July 8, 2024 in Austin, TX. Born on February 28, 1941 in Indiana to Lillian Starr and George Alan Starr. Judith was known for her dedication to her family and loved ones.
Survived by her husband, Ralph Banks who remembers fondly the night they met as she looked so beautiful coming down the stairs for the first time. Judith and Ralph both attended the University of Texas and were set up on a blind date. They married shortly after on January 5, 1963.
After getting married, Judith and Ralph started a family and had three children together. Even though she worked full-time and was a dedicated mother, Judith always managed to find time to tend to her gardens and make friends with all the neighbors.
Judith is also survived by her loving children Roger Banks, Randall Banks and Julie Gilmore, and her sisters Diane Brown and Pam Brown. She spent her most recent years dedicating herself to helping raise her grandkids; Hana, Kassia, Sam and Max, making sure to attend every sporting event, recital, play and performance.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, George Alan Starr and Lillian Starr.
A memorial service for Judith will be held on Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752.
